Prepared meal delivery has historically been a tricky business to scale. Meal kits pushed too much work onto the consumer, vertically integrated prepared-meal companies struggled with menu fatigue and overly-centralized production, while restaurant delivery offers unlimited variety at an unsustainable price. CookUnity has taken a different approach by building a vertically integrated marketplace that handles nearly everything around the food while leaving the actual cooking and menu creation to independent chefs. The company now serves 250k+ customers per week across most of the U.S., operates eight major kitchen facilities, and offers roughly 400-500 meals per market each week. More importantly, the same infrastructure is starting to power corporate fridges, catering, third-party delivery, physical retail, healthcare, and personalized nutrition.
