Taking Personalized Nutrition Into My Own Hands With Bloodwork & DNA Data

Five years after HNGRY’s deep dive into the bleeding edge of personalized nutrition, we are still far from the full vision of end-to-end AI-tailored diets. But I was recently inspired by a post from Justin Mares and gave Claude access to three different datasets about my body: a raw 23andMe file containing more than 600k genetic markers, a separate practitioner-ordered genetics report from 3x4 Genetics, and two years of Function Health bloodwork spanning 163 biomarkers. I then started asking the same questions I think about every day: Should I eat more fish? Is whole-fat skyr okay? What about pasta? How often can I eat red meat? Is one glass of wine actually a problem? The genetics helped identify where my body might be more vulnerable, while the bloodwork showed which of those risks were actually materializing. But the most interesting part wasn't the science itself. It was watching AI turn a pile of fragmented health data into specific foods, restaurant orders, and dietary interventions that I could actually use.
