Two weeks ago at CES, Michael Wolf of The Spoon hosted a conversation titled βRobot vs Chef: Will AI Augment or Replace the Cook?β The panel featured the founders of Gambit Robotics and Serve Robotics alongside Bay Area-based chef Tyler Florence. Gambit dubs itself an βAI sous chefβ that mounts to a kitchen range hood to watch you cook, track temperatures, and guide you through any recipe. The startup is co-founded by the former co-founder and CTO of MongoDB ($MDB) Eliot Horowitz and ex-Google AI researcher Nicole Maffeo. This coming Tuesday, it will launch its Kickstarter campaign for the $349 device, which will also include a nominal monthly subscription for added features like real-time voice guidance and recipe personalization.
