BiteSight Layers Social & Video To Create Gen Z Native Food Delivery App

In late June, a new food delivery app called BiteSight seemingly appeared out of nowhere, hitting the coveted #2 spot on the App Store Food & Drink charts, just behind DoorDash and ahead of Uber Eats, Taco Bell, & McDonaldβs. But this was years in the making as founders Lucious McDaniel IV and Zachery Schulwolf went from a video-based restaurant menu startup in β23 to a food delivery one today. The app, which can be simplified as TikTok meets DoorDash, has created a novel ordering experience with 30k+ videos of dishes that can be ordered from ~7.5k New York City-based restaurants. While the startupβs growth has normalized in the past month and a half since its App Store peak, it now boasts 100k+ users and is currently in talks to raise a new round of funding. This week, HNGRY sat down with co-founder McDaniel, who calls himself Chief Eating Officer.
